|Rescue Me ID: 17-11-22-00007Rino (male)|
Meet Rino! This little puppy came to us from the Animal Rescue Corps mission in St. Martin after the hurricane. We have no idea on breed so we are calling him an island mix. He is about 4.5 months old and weighs 13.5 lbs. He is a typical energetic, friendly, happy puppy who would love a family to teach him proper manners, potty training and give him plenty of love and exercise. Could your family be the perfect match for this island boy? Rino's adoption fee of $350 helps cover the cost of his medical care. Rino is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at email@example.com. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-11-12-00189Tallie (female)|
Meet Tallie 16 weeks / 9 lbs Feist/Jack Russell Terrier Mix Hi! I'm Tallie! I'm a small dog with a huge personality. I'm fun, energetic, curious and I love to play! Even though I'm young I'm an expert fetch player - I will always bring the toy back to you. Speaking of toys - I love them! Squeaky toys are my favorite but I also love stuffed animals. My favorite place to be is on my human's lap. I LOVE snuggling, especially at night, which is why I don't want to sleep in a crate all by myself. I'd much prefer to spend the night sleeping close to my family! Once I'm all tucked in for the night I'll sleep straight through until morning. I'm still working on house training, but am smart and treat motivated so it shouldn't take long until I have that mastered. I'm a pretty small girl so other dogs can scare me at first. If you're looking for a fantastic and fun new best friend get your application in and come meet me! Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. (Less)

Flash! This sweet boy, is such a love bug - he gives endless kisses and just wants to be your Pal! He'll have you laughing and will jump in your lap for some lovins. He likes to play fetch like a large dog and is just pure joy to be around. During our time together, I did NOT want to put him back into his house, I wanted him to be with me constantly! Such a great dog to be around (3 Flash is about 4 years old or so, he was not being cared for, left out in the yard with little to no attention and/or love. Flash just wants to bond, he wants to make you happy, he wants to give you kisses and make you laugh. He's a people pleasure - all he wants is to see you happy, with him (3 ADOPT FLASH! |Rescue Me ID: 17-10-17-00095Cooper (male)|
Ok, so he is 12 years old but don't let that fool you-Cooper has a lot of vim and vigor! What a perfect combination, the spunk to keep us and go for walks and be active with his family, but the maturity to not be over the top exuberant. Cooper likes the finer things in life whether it be a brisk walk in the crisp fall air or a warm nap on a snuggly blanket, and he is not slouch when it comes time for a nice dinner! Cooper was given up by his family due to his seasonal allergies. Apparently they flare up this time of year and in the spring. He gets a little itchy but nothing to serious. We gave him a soothing bath and if it gets bad a little benadryl helps. We have many dogs with similar issues, my own bulldog is 10 x worse, thats a bulldog for you. This season seems to really be tough on dogs and people with allergies. But, Cooper is doing just fine. He is a happy guy, loves his people and is doing well with the other dogs. At first he was not too happy about the rowdiness of others but has learned to accept it. He will do well in a more peaceful home than ours. He probably had a nice quiet life and does appreciate quiet times. His adoption fee is $99. Please email Kristine at firstname.lastname@example.org. Internal Notes (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-10-12-00437Trace (male)|
Oh yes...there is a little twinkle in his eye and he will not disappoint! Trace is a spry little guy that loves a little mischief in his life, but it is all good, he is just a lovable little goofball of a dog. Not to make fun of anyone's looks or genetics--no way--we love differences, in fact we embrace them!! Trace is not your run of the mill purebred, cookie cutter dog(all said tongue in cheek!), nope...he is one in a million. I am sure this look was thoughtfully planned out...long and pointy nose, low rider, crooked little front legs, and do NOT forget to put the spring in those legs and the desire for a little bit of 'ooooh no I shouldn't do that but I have too' spirit. Yes...we caught him patrolling our counter tops. Note to self, push in bar stool. Trace is a happy free spirit of a guy looking for love with a similarly minded family, another dog would be awesome but not necessary. He would do well with a hiker, jogger....he is up for adventure!! Trace is just 2 years old and about 20 pounds and guaranteed to make you smile!! His adoption fee is $250, please email Kristine at email@example.com. (Less)

Tyson is a male 7 y/o, 15 lbs, min pin mix. He is a special dog who needs a home with lots of love, patience, and willing to put in the time to gain his trust. |Rescue Me ID: 17-03-08-00316Gussie (female)|
Delightful Gussie is the absolute definition of 'mutt' - all the best qualities from many different breeds mixed together in one adorable package! This little muscly dynamo is clearly Jack Russell or Rat Terrier, and she likely has some mix of Staffordshire Terrier in her to give her that cute stocky body. She only weighs 25 pounds, but she has the personality of a dog 4 times her size! Gussie is about 18 months old, and she came to ACL from a local animal control. She's clearly been used for puppies in the past, and at her young age this is just so unfair! Luckily Gussie doesn't let anything get her down - she's a high energy, happy go lucky, wiggly jigglebutt who just wants to party all day every day! Gussie is a little unmannered, and she responds best to firm, confident, calm leadership. With a more laissez-faire owner, she can get pushy and bossy. She needs an experienced owner willing to help her work through some of her teenaged nuttiness and relax into the sweet girl she's meant to be! Gussie loves other dogs and would do great with another rough and tumble canine companion. Because of Gussie's high energy, interested adopters should email Gabrielle at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a time to meet her and discuss adoption! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-08-25-00173Callee (female)|
Callee is an affectionate, silly girl full of love!! Upon first meeting, she may be shy, but given some time and love, she will come running right into your arms! Her energy level varies from average to high. She loves to snuggle and enjoys playing with her foster brother. She may be tiny, but she is tough! She is able to keep up with his quick running and wrestling. Callee has mastered some basic commands such as sit, (lay) down, and come when called. She has even completed a training class complete with certificate! Her leash walking skills have improved tremendously, although it is highly recommended to walk Callee on a harness. Callee has slept in a crate, but much prefers to be out of the crate. She gets anxious when being in a crate for long periods of time. Callee was crated during the day, but has graduated to being gated in a room when home alone. Calle would do fine in a home as an only dog or a home with another small dog. When out in public, Callee becomes very timid around other dogs, especially the bigger dogs. Callee needs a slow introduction to new dogs and a fair amount of time to adjust. She has not had much exposure to her feline friends, but when she has been around them, she let them go about their business and just watched them. A tall fenced in yard is best for Callee as she has a high prey drive and would not do well on a tie-out. She has been able to clear a 5 foot gate. When Callee gets overly excited, she can jump and be mouthy. For this reason, it would be recommended that Callee goes into a home without young children. If you are interested in meeting Callee, please go to our website www.alwaysroom4morepaws.com to learn about our adoption process and fill out an application. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Jack Russell in Illinois|
Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
