I need to re-home my 7 year old jack russell mix. I've had her since she was a few months old, but I am leaving the country and I can't take her with me. Sara is very affectionate, well behaved and a little spoiled. She gets along well with other dogs but she loves human company best and will gladly endure cuddles, smooches and fingernail painting as long as she can be near you. A house full of children is her heaven. Sara is spayed and current on her shots. She has no health issues. Is healthy and energetic, but is growing constantly less and less tolerant of the children and other animals in the home. she is very healthy and young for a dog her age. Mimi is an excellent addition to any family with children or without. She's very good with people but will feel threatened around other dogs and is food aggressive when other dogs are present. She has a nervous habit of licking her arms which is why she has scabs on her arms, she is crate trained. Will do well around older dogs if they aren't dominant otherwise a fight may occur. Whenever loud noises such as a thunderstorms or fireworks are occurring Mimi will need attention due to her fear of loud noises. Meet Murphy!! He is 9 yrs old and was rescued when he was 6 yrs old. Loving sweet and affectionate. He sleeps on a dog pillow when the foster is home and sneaks onto chair when alone. He was always allowed up with his previous parents. He has one canine tooth missing before they got him. Loves pull toys but will chew anything with a squeeker...great with cats pays them no mind. Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
