Rescue Me ID: 16-06-10-00288Natalie (female)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Our goal is to find animals fantastic forever homes and yet after MONTHS, here sits Natalie still waiting for a place to call her own. The real mystery is why she has had to wait so long. She is so wonderful, so loving, so fun, and so completely easy. She's a total doll! Natalie is a 2-year-old pit mix and weighs about 40 pounds. Her breed could have something to do with the reason she hasn't received a whole lot of attention. We tried to include various head shots this time so that you get a better idea of her look. She could be mixed with something like a Jack Russell, but that's purely a guess. She's got a non-bully breed in her genes ... (Read More)for sure. Anyway, breed discussion aside we want tell you that Natalie could fit in to a lot of different homes. She isn't high energy, but does love walks and to carry her sticks or toys with her. She loves to play fetch with her tennis balls too. Natalie has been great in a home with dog-savvy cats. She sometimes just ignores their existence and sometimes chases for fun. She has also been fine with low-key dogs, but she is not looking for a doggy playmate. She is somewhat reactive on leash when she sees another and makes a bad impression. Anyone with some spunk is of no interest to Natalie. She is, however, great with kids. She is gentle and likes to have attention. She would love to have a person to cuddle with regularly and to be the center of their universe. Natalie is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and crate trained. If you would like to meet Natalie please complete an application on our website www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com. Her adoption fee is $150. If you have any questions, please email us at pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com or find us on Facebook. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-10-00231Louie (male)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Oh Louie. It has been awhile since we posted our little guy. He has been living it up in a foster home until he decided that he couldn't tolerate being pushed around by cats. Unfortunately Louie had to pack his bags and find a new place to bunk. We have in a temporary place now, but we need something more long term, like a forever home (although at this point foster is fine too). Louie is a 1-1/2-year-old rat terrier/Jack Russell/min pin mix (or so we have guessed). He's a little guy with energy oozing from everywhere. He loves to run and play with any toy he can, but his attention span is about the same a goldfish. Once he has romped with ... (Read More)other dogs or gone for a long walk he is ready to cuddle. He loves to sleep in bed too. Louie knows some basic commands is doing much better on leash. He rides well in the car too. Although Louie is a very sweet guy, he has bounced around more than we had hoped. Each transition seems to be a little harder until he gets the hang of the new routine. We have seen Louie in different environments and have seen him do best with another active dog in the home and with a fenced yard. We want him to succeed and these two points will give him the best shot at success. Louie loves other dogs and has played with all shapes and sizes. He does seem to be a little rough with dogs his own size; it's like he doesn't realize he is a little guy too. As we mentioned above, Louie does not love cats any longer. he is friendly with children and has lived with with little ones, but we think because of his bouncy energy he would do best with older kids. Louie is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is housebroken with a fenced yard and predictable routine. He is also crate trained. If you would like to meet Louie for a foster or forever home, please complete an adoption application on our website www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. The same application is also used if you are interested in fostering Louie. This is the first step of the process and required prior to a meet and greet. Please let us know if you have any questions or find us on Facebook! Louie's adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Young Adult

Willie is a 5 yr old JRT mix. We are looking for a foster home for him so we can work on resource guarding with him. He is a fabulous little dog with lots of love to give a family. Up to this point we don't think anyone has ever worked with him. We are already seeing signs of progress in him but need your help to give him a consistent loving home to work out his issues in. We will work with the home to help correct his issues and provide food and a crate while in foster care. Our goal is to get him ready for his forever home. If that is your home or you can help us find that home, fill out the online application at www.alsiptotherescue.org. ... (Read More)Willie is not on the adoption floor but is in our St John location.
