Female Jack Russell, I have had her since she was a puppy and I love her very much. I hate to get rid of her but I have had some changes in my life that are preventing me from being able to take care of her the way she deserves. It will be hard to not have her but as long as she is in a loving home that is all I am concerned with at this time. She is a great dog and for the most part she does great with other animals as you can see in the pics of her with my friends mini yorkie, even shared her bed with her.

She is my Jack Russel that I have owned since she was a puppy, she is really a great dog and I hate to have to get rid of her, unfortunately my life has had some changes lately and I am not able to take care of her as she deserves. As hard as it will be to let her go I just want her to be happy and be with a loving family. I will try to find some pictures of her to post as soon as possible. She is white with a little black on her, I always said she looked like the RCA Tv dog. She really is a great dog.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-14-00145Lily (female)
Lily is a wonderful dog. Not sure if she is mixed or purebreed, vet put her as Jack Russell. She is not typical of any Jack Russell I have ever been around. Not hyper at all. She only barks if she hears something unusual or a stranger comes. She is spayed and housebroken. She loves to chase squirrels but hates guns. She loves peanuts and peanut butter. She enjoys walking on a leash and just being with you. I absolutely love her but our lives are so busy right now. She would be a great companion for a retired couple or someone that can spend a lot of time with her. I am having difficulty uploading a photo. She is white and reddish brown. If interested, I can email or facebook pictures. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-26-00591Terry (female)
Terry (Jack Russell Terrier) is 11 years old (10/24/03), 27#, spayed, micro-chipped, UTD on shots, good with other dogs/cats/kids, calm & loving. She likes to follow you and sit on the couch. There is vet records back to 10/24/11. Terry was a little overweight and had hair loss from nerves and allergies. Since being in foster she has grown back her hair and loves to take her benadryl wrapped in cheese (feels so good not to itch). Terry wants WINSTON to tell you their story... 'I lost my Mommy in a car wreck in Kentucky. Mommy left me and 3 fur-sisters behind with no one to care for us so we went to what they call a shelter. The kind workers at the shelter put us on some kind of book with a face...we still don't understand that LOL. One of my fur-sisters went home with a family that had lost her and been looking for her. Terry, Dottie & I was taken out of the scary shelter by Basset Rescue of Kentuckiana. They had a family willing to foster all of us. We miss our Mommy.' If you would like to meet one of them or adopt go to BassetRofK.org to fill out application. (Less)

Part Jack Russell, we believe the age to be about 8-10 years, but not positive. She has no major health issues listed on this form, but does have some allergies with itching. My mother passed away on January 28th and we have had difficulty finding a home for this dog.

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-14-00323Katie (female)
Katie is a very sweet temperment dog. I am having to move and can not take her with me. She is 8 years old. If possible, she needs a fenced yard to run in when weather is pretty. Because of my career I do not have the time she deserves. Would love to find a good and loving home for her.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-04-00405Matty (male)
'Matty is 11 months old, 40 lbs, neutered, current on vaccines (due February 2016), heartworm negative and on monthly trifexis. He is wonderful with cats and other dogs, loves people, very playful and interactive, but also independent. Happy to hang out at home, nap, and entertain himself, but is happiest when you're playing with him. He would do best in a home with other animals/playmates. He is not destructive, but very busy and needs supervision. He has been living with 2 professional trainers for the last 6 weeks and has a great foundation in obedience and socialization, lovely house, door, and food manners, loves to play fetch, and crates beautifully. He travels like a champ and is great in the car. He knows: sit, down, stand, wait, come, touch, watch me, go place, bring, hold, drop, give, wonderful leash manners, and he even rings a bell to go outside. Why are we rehoming him? He was selected as a Service Dog candidate, but after 5+ weeks of working with him, we have determined that service work is not his calling. He is much happier playing in the safety and comfort of familiar surroundings, unable to reliably focus on the job at hand and find his confidence out in the big wide stimulating world. He also has as few handling sensitivities. He was born to be a pet, - a ham and a clown - who lives to make you laugh. He DEFINITELY would like a rural/county home..helping someone do chores, exploring the back forty, swimming, fishing, poking things with a stick, or riding in a four wheeler. He is just not liking city living! He has had limited access to children, but has done well in small doses. He would be best in a home with children over 12 - he would quickly learn how to 'work' the little ones - too smart for his own good and very good at getting people to bend to his will. Does this guy sounds like a good fit for you? If so, contact us for an application! An adoption fee does apply.' Please contact Kait for updated pictures and adoption information. firstname.lastname@example.org **We are not a rescue organization. We specialize in training Service Dogs, but occasionally will adopt a dog from our program if we determine they are not suited to the job at hand. Adoption fees reflect the dog's vet care** (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Jack Russell in Kentucky
Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Kentucky if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
