Loving little lap dog. Still very much a pup. Playful, funny and active. Loves to be wherever you are. Gets along with other small dogs. Submissive, not dominate. Small cherry eye on left. Tiny cherry eye on right. Not symptomatic but left is noticeable. Fearfull until feels safe, then blossoms into a wonderful companion. Loves walks and car rides.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-12-00335Mia (female)|
Happy girl Mia is just 18 months old. She loves being out in the country, but wants to be inside with her family when it's time for bed. She was busy all day long exploring and playing tag with the other dogs in her foster home. Unfortunately for Mia her former owners run a wildlife preserve and she seemed to think that chasing all the deer, turkeys and ducks was her main job. Mia has a loving nature and would be the perfect companion for family that lives in a rural area. She needs plenty of room to run and work. Mia is enrolled in the 12-week Death Row Dogs Program at Green River Correctional Complex. She will graduate 10/15.

Hi there I am Waldo. I am a medium sized male dog. I am about 2 years old. I have lots of energy and I love to run and play. I have so much fun with kids and I get along well with other dogs. I weigh about 30 pounds right now and in the right environment I will put on a little more weight I am sure.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-30-00054Tony (male)|
Tony is a very sweet Jack Russell, but would be much better suited to a family with no small children. We adopted him at 3yo and have had him three years. He would do wonderful with a single person or older couple where he could be the center of attention. He's become very attached to me, the mom, and tries to separate me from my children.

Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Kentucky if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
