She is a good dog we received from a family member that moved out of state. We have big dogs (Dane and Lab) which she gets nervous around. Kennel and house trained. We would like to find her a good home with smaller friends.

Meet Jack, the Tug MASTER! This young man of 7 is a tug and fetch fanatic! Anytime you are a champion sportsman, you have to be selective about your inner circle. King Jack (does that sound too much like 'The Rock?') won't admit just anyone to his posse. Like other star athletes, he does need to meet people on his terms!! After a good round of fetch or tug, he's the ultimate snuggler. And, watch your pillow folks-Jack often burrows into bed with you, welcome or not!! Who needs a body pillow with Jack around?! LOL Jack would benefit from basic obedience training to boost his ego, as he could use some confidence building. He would possibly be a great candidate for Parcour, Flyball, or agility. Due to his zest for the outdoors, he will need a securely fenced-in yard to prevent him from going too long for the pass.He is smart and lets his foster parents know when he needs to go outside or is hungry, and will get very excited if you ask "Do you need to go outside?" or "Are you hungry?' Like many terriers, Jack views his crate as his refuge and 'burrow.' While housebroken in his foster home, we encourage adopters to expect any dog to require an adjustment period. Jack does need to be given limited house privileges because he gets a bit enthusiastic about squeezing the Charmin or seeing how much of a 'picker upper' the Bounty is once it's shredded! If only he could be reimbursed for his quality assurance tests! Jack is fully vetted, including micro chip which will be registered to his new family when finalizing his adoption. He is a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix. His adoption fee is $200.00 Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-09-09-00197Rex (male)|
Meet Rex!! Rex is a Jack Russell /Pug mix who is 6-7 years old! Rex knows his name but chooses to ignore it if preoccupied with important doggy business. Usually, though, he will come when called. He's a happy dog who wants to be loved and really likes tummy rubs. He also likes to play with other dogs but may fit best in a home with only one other dog about his same size or where he's the only dog. When he's not playing he wants to 'protect' his person from other dogs and has picked up a few nicks as a result. He should probably go to a home with no children under about 10. He's apparently been spoiled and, if he doesn't want to be picked up or give up his toy, he does growl but has never actually snapped. He would be a good watch dog; he did not like the Cox repairman coming into our yard but once properly introduced he was fine. Rex also enjoys enthusiastically running around the back yard and laying in the sun. His preferred spot is on top of the patio table. He can jump and climb and loves to sit on the highest spot. He respects boundaries like fences and baby/pet gates. He is not entirely crate-trained but will go in to eat or if motivated by a treat, so he can likely adjust to it. At this time, he is accustomed to spending nights outside the crate and has behaved well. He is housebroken and has had no accidents. He likes to go on rides in the car. Rex does reasonably well on a leash but would do better with a harness. He wants to be a lap dog and if he can't actually be in your lap, he wants to be close by. He likes toys, especially knotted balls. He may know the 'sit' command. Rex is current on vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro chipped. If you are interested in Rex, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Nebraska if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
