Jack is a 7 year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix weighing in a 13 pounds. Jack loves to play fetch and is house trained and crate trained. He is not comfortable with young children or strangers but will be fine in an environment with very little change. With some time and patience Jack will repay his new owner's with a lifetime of devotion. Suggested adoption donation for Jack is $200 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-27-00310Sandy-Pending Adoption (female)|
Sandy was found as a stray in a rural area with no animal control or shelter near. She is happy and loving and our best guess is that she is 2-3 years old. SANDY IS HEART WORM POSITIVE AND WILL BE UNDERGOING TREATMENT. CHECK BACK IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HER or visit www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com and use the DONATE NOW PAW if you want to donate towards her medical expenses. Because of her condition, Sandy is currently on MEDICAL HOLD and will not be available for adoption until February, 2017. For this reason, the suggested adoption donation for Sandy is pending and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. |Rescue Me ID: 16-09-09-00197Rex (male)|
Meet Rex!! Rex is a Jack Russell /Pug mix who is 6-7 years old! Rex knows his name but chooses to ignore it if preoccupied with important doggy business. Usually, though, he will come when called. He's a happy dog who wants to be loved and really likes tummy rubs. He also likes to play with other dogs but may fit best in a home with only one other dog about his same size or where he's the only dog. When he's not playing he wants to 'protect' his person from other dogs and has picked up a few nicks as a result. He should probably go to a home with no children under about 10. He's apparently been spoiled and, if he doesn't want to be picked up or give up his toy, he does growl but has never actually snapped. He would be a good watch dog; he did not like the Cox repairman coming into our yard but once properly introduced he was fine. Rex also enjoys enthusiastically running around the back yard and laying in the sun. His preferred spot is on top of the patio table. He can jump and climb and loves to sit on the highest spot. He respects boundaries like fences and baby/pet gates. He is not entirely crate-trained but will go in to eat or if motivated by a treat, so he can likely adjust to it. At this time, he is accustomed to spending nights outside the crate and has behaved well. He is housebroken and has had no accidents. He likes to go on rides in the car. Rex does reasonably well on a leash but would do better with a harness. He wants to be a lap dog and if he can't actually be in your lap, he wants to be close by. He likes toys, especially knotted balls. He may know the 'sit' command. Rex is current on vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro chipped. If you are interested in Rex, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Nebraska if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
