Animal ID: 0118-EddieEddie (male)

Jack Russell    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Eddie ....a super sweet 6 - 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier rescued by FOCAS at the behest of a veterinarian. He was a pass along; pet from someone who could not keep him to a couple that had him for a month. Seems Edde did not get along with their dog or cat. Why euthanasia was considered is an enigma to all.. Our initial assessment by a trainer indicates he is not overtly dog aggressive but will defend his space. FOCAS registered Eddie in group training classes where he is doing well. He has been completely vetted.including examination, blood panel, heart worm test (neg) and was given rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccines. ... (Read More)He does not have toy or food guarding issues. He is a terrific little traveler in a car. Did we mention he is super sweet...just adores people? Well, he is/does! To meet Eddie in person, contact FOCAS at 201-943-4019, Opt. #4. (Less)

Gunner is a very high energy dog, as most Jack's are. He is our family dog, we have 3 children and he loves them dearly. However, we cannot put it off anymore, our 9 year old has been sick for months and the tests confirm we have a heartbreaking choice to make. It is our experience that Gunner likes to be the only pet in the house, we have tried a previous 'trial run' with another dog owner that didn't work out and was devastating to the kids. Serious inquiries only, please.

Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
