Animal ID: 17-164Aspen (male)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello Handsome!!! This entertaining goof ball is a house and crate trained 5 month old, 24 lb Jack Russel Terrier/Lab mix (and one of the pups from our beautiful Long Island litter from momma Angel!). Aspen will keep you laughing all day long, and he will also warm your heart his delicious kisses. He absolutely LOVES to play with other dogs, so a home with another active canine sibling would thrill him to pieces. After playtime, he's calm, well behaved, and mellow. His Long Island fosters say he's still in the mouthy stage, so when he gets overexcited, he tends to think people are a good chew toy. If there are kids in the home, they need to ... (Read More)be dog savvy and know how to correct him properly. 10+ would be the best fit (he has a 10 year old in his foster home, and they get along great!). Aspen is VERY smart, eager to please, loves a good treat, and knows a bunch of commands, including sit, come, down, go to your bed, and sit pretty. He waits patiently for his meals and is happy to share with his fellow canines. Aspen's ideal home would be active, have an understanding of the typical Jack Russell personality, offer playmates of older child and/or canines, and be willing to continue his training. Aspen is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped, and his adoption fee is $450. To adopt Aspen, please submit an app: www.OlliesAngelsAnimalRescue.org (Less)

I'm Really Kind of Sweet! Jack was born about December 22, 2004 or in 2008....and he weighs about 10 lbs. So, he was picked up stray and his owner was located by his rabies tag, but they had no interest in bailing him out from dog control so we did. This poor little old man needed a safe place to fall! OK, the age thing, well the owner told the town that he was 7, but the vet that boosted his rabies shot for us feels he is about 11 so his birthday will be up to you! He is really sweet and loves to snuggle in your lap. He is just wonderful with the other dogs here, but struggled when he went to another home, particularly with a Beagle ... (Read More)as there was some food aggression. He seldom says a peep which we just love, but maybe he can't hear well, we've not been able to determine that, but it is obvious that his eyes have some old age cloudiness so his eyesight isn't what it used to be. He doesn't care, he gets around just fine. He is good on leash and ok in a crate, but not sure why you would need one. We are so glad he is here with us and we know we are going to find him an excellent home for the rest of his life where someone will love him and never let him wander freely. Jack did well on our cat test, but the other home said he didn't like their cat - sometimes confusing. (Less)
