|Rescue Me ID: 18-02-10-00024Chawhee (female)|
Chawhee is a fun, loveable and loyal dog. Best with a home where family/owner is home a lot. My job requires me to work split shift now and Chawhee needs more attention. Loves walks. Does not wander away from home when unleashed. I have a fenced yard and she has escaped several times only to find her wondering around front of house. Need more time for training but my schedule does not allow. If anyone has the time, she is the perfect dog. Loves to cuddle and loves to play. She is a Jack Russell/Blue Heeler mix. (Blue Heeler is not option in dropdown menu for secondary breed)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-02-09-00273Benny (male)|
BENNY IS A JACK RUSSELL TERRIER MIX (MALE) ABOUT 6-7MOS OLD. I ADOPTED HIM FROM A LOCAL ANIMAL RESCUE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. I WANTED A DOG BUT BENNY HAS PROVED TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE. HE IS A WORKING/HUNTING BREED AND IS HIGH ENERGY AND STRONG-WILLED. HE WEIGHS ABOUT 35lbs. WHICH PUTS HIM IN THE MEDIUM SIZE CATEGORY. HE WOULD BE GOOD IN A RURAL AREA OR HOME THAT HAS SOME ACREAGE WHERE HE COULD RUN TO HIS HEART's CONTENT! HE WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT HUNTING COMPANION AS HE LOVES TO PUT HIS NOSE TO THE GROUND AND FOLLOW THE SCENT FOR MILES. I am asking for an adoption fee around $50 plus gas money if you want him delivered. He was vet examined and I do have paper copies of his vaccinations-rabies, distemper, and heart worm medicine. Please contact if interested. Thank you. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-01-31-00596Molly (female)|
Meet Molly! Molly is a 13 week old terrier mix with a thirst for life. This 10 lb beauty is doing well with potty training and crate training. She enjoys being outside and being inquisitive. Molly enjoys playing with the larger dogs in her foster home and is all around playful! After playing, Molly enjoys relaxing on the dog bed or being snuggled in your arms. |Rescue Me ID: 18-01-30-00231BARNEY (male)|
BARNEY is a senior Jack Russell mix who came to the shelter when his owner died and other family members could not provide him with the right type of home. He was adopted briefly but came back because he was nippy toward unfamiliar people coming into the home and other animals. He needs to be the only pet in very sedate adult home. With the staff and volunteers here at the shelter, he has been fine--other than being scared of the big dogs' barking. We are a small shelter located in rural PA; closest city is Pittsburgh. Please Map It before you contact us. We require a meet and greet with any other dogs in the home, check references, and need to meet the prospective adopters; therefore, we do not transport dogs. |Rescue Me ID: 18-01-04-00248Rocky (male)|
Rocky has his own passport and one could say he is a bit of a world traveler. Rocky was born in the UK back in 2006 and traveled to the United States as a puppy to live with our family. Rocky is a loving/caring dog who relishes attention, is very good with children, likes to play fetch despite his age and has brought a lot of joy to our family. However, our family dynamic changed a year ago with the addition of twins. Needless to say we are extremely busy taking care of the two babies and our 6 year old. We aren't able to make Rocky the center of attention anymore and we feel that he deserves to be in a home that can give him the attention he needs. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-12-30-00467Winky (female)|
Winky is a smart, high energy, loving dog. Unfortunately large dogs and young children make her anxious. She needs a home with no children or older kids who undersand her cues. She loves to play fetch and tug. She is house broken and kennel trained, but suffers from excitement/submissive urination. Her right eye does not open as a birth defect and requires regular cleaning. It also causes depth perception issues and she may become anxious when outdoors at night. All in all she is a great dog who needs a forever home with someone who wants a little buddy to play with.

|Animal ID: RUFUSRUFUS (male)|
Meet RUFUS, a 1-year-old, 20 lb., male Jack Russell mix who was recently picked up as a stray and taken to an overcrowded shelter. Since no one came looking for him, he was at risk of being put to sleep. A local rescue pulled him for a family who expressed interest in fostering to adopt Rufus. Unfortunately Rufus was more than they could handle, requiring lots of exercise, obedience training and socialization. RUFUS once again is homeless and not safe. He is still young and the rescue hopes he could thrive with the right person and training. He does fear bite and needs a person that can work with a canine behavorist/trainer to help him over come his fear biting. If you would like to foster or adopt Rufus and help him overcome his fears, please contact email@example.com. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Jack Russell in Pennsylvania|
Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
