Hi,my name is Cookie,I'm a jack Russell I was turned in because my family was never home with me. I am about one year old, and a little girl. I am a small about 10 lbs.Jack Russell.I love to go for walks and run and play prefect for kids or a family on the go. I'm being pad trained but will still need help working on it, I know the story that Jacks chase everything but I just chase love. A yard would be great so I have room to run. I just want to be your buddy. I have an appointment to be spayed, heartworm tested, and will have my identification micro chip, I have had all my shots so I'll be ready for my new home. So go to cnhrescue.org and fill out an adoption application.then call to talk to the adoption coordinator so you can come visit with me.My adoption fee of 350.00.. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-02-04-00310Peanut (female)|
Peanut is just about 1 y/o. She was adopted from our local animal shelter by a lady (unknown) who abandoned her the same day to the lady's mother. The mother kept her for a short while, inside, along with 3 or 4 Chihuahuas. She advertised 'free' on facebook, and someone gave me the info. My husband and I took the dog, but the mother told us that if we could not keep her, she wanted her back. Well, we cannot find her, and I am about to return Peanut to the shelter. We cannot keep Peanut confined to our FENCED back yard when she goes out, because she has dug out under all sides of the fence. She has eaten ALL but one of my plants. She constantly goes into neighbors' yards; has torn up shoes, carpet and who knows what else. She has chased neighbors up the street, as well as their dogs. She has not bitten anyone, nor even tried; she seems to want to play. (We do have 2 other dogs that she plays with.) Last week, she did snap & bark at my 3 y/o grandson, (she knows the child, and has never done this before); he may have startled her, I don't really know. I don't want to cause trouble for the woman who originally adopted her, nor do I want to hinder my chance to adopt through our local animal shelter by returning her, but I cannot keep this dog. If she is not adopted out by the end of this month (February), she will be returned to Animal Care. (Less)

She is a very loving dog, once she gets use to you. Can be a little aggressive if she thinks she is protecting me. She is more comfortable around adult women. She has just had 3 puppies and they need to go with her. I am divorcing and can not take her with me. To a GOOD home only!!!

|Rescue Me ID: 15-12-14-00055Eddie (male)|
This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Eddie was originally adopted from Charleston Animal Society as a 5yr old JRT mix. He's turned out to be much older than 5, closer to 9yrs, I'm guessing. He seems to like men better than women. Being a woman, this is not working. I've had him for nearly 6 months, he's obviously not happy in my home. He's great with other dogs and even cats. He is microchipped and up to date on his shots. His paper work came with a warning about children, turned out not to be the case, if anything he's aggressive towards women, not children. He's supposed to be house broken, and crate trained. Nope. He's not. I wish I could say he was. Due to this I believe he may of been a puppy mill stud dog. I would like to find another home for him, as I am running out of options very quickly. (Less)

Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
