Rescue Me ID: 15-11-14-00308Bethany (female)
Helped a friend by taking in dog. Been trying to find how to keep her, but it doesn't seem like I can keep the dog. She is a great dog but I work a lot and cannot give her the love and care she needs. She needs someone that can play and take care of her like she needs.

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-04-00285Boo (female)
Boo and her siblings were the product of a breeder surrender the summer of 2015 in Fauquier County, VA. The five pups have been in training for socialization for four months and are ready for their forever homes (or foster homes). All are leash trained and well behaved in their kennels, but not necessarily house trained. Each is a little comedian in their own right, very happy, no dog aggression but all Jacks in attitude and drive. Boo needs a little more of a gentle touch than her brothers. She is not as sure of herself and needs a calming gentle hand. She is a good girl and trying to work through her uncertainties. All are altered, up to date on vaccines, and HW negative. (Less)

This boy is Elroy! He is a very cute, spunky dog like his brother (Juice). He loves to cuddle and will be a great companion! Being a Jack Russell, he needs someone who will give him the proper exercise and time to have him thrive!

Rescue Me ID: 15-10-19-00314Harper (female)
Harper and Willow are two approximate 3-4 year old female broken coat Jacks who were turned in to a shelter in North Carolina as strays, currently living in Alexandria, VA. They are obviously siblings, and while we do not have to adopt them to the same home, we would love to keep them together if we could. Harper and Willow, both being female, do have their squabbles, sometimes over a dog they see while walking, and some times over food. Willow chooses to spend time near her human, awaiting your return should you leave, while Harper is slightly more independent and is the one that tends to instigate any issues between them, largely based on attention seeking. An experienced Jack Russell family would be able to curb these actions with training and maintenance. They are up to date on vaccines, and we spayed entering rescue. They adore squirrel hunting, sleeping together, cuddling, and being near their humans. They are precious little ladies! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-10-18-00069Bucky (male)
Bucky is a good dog. When we got Bucky he had a rough puppy hood. For the last few years Bucky has lived in a cage over the hill at my grandmas due to them selling the house I need to find him a home. Bucky hasn't had a lot of human interactions just with my family not many others so he is not use to strangers but doesn't show aggression when he meets others just barks. He is not aggressive towards anyone but is dominant when it comes to his cage. He has lived beside a larger dog for years and when let loose they did get along well. Bucky likes to wrestle with other dogs but has never shown aggression towards any. He is a jack Russell so he has a very high energy level. I would like to see home go to someone who understands the breed and can give him the attention he needs. As you can see from the picture Bucky is muscular from constantly pacing the cage. Bucky can be easily trained he already knows what 'sit' means. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Jack Russell in Virginia
Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
