Jack Russell    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Marshmallow is an 8 year-old sweet and smart Jack Russell Terrier. She does well with other dogs (though she doesn't play), and has lived with cats and small children. She knows sit, lay down, and high five. Marshmallow is very affectionate, loves to have her ears rubbed, and is very food motivated. UTD on vaccinations and spayed. She loves to FETCH sticks. Marshie is mostly deaf but comes when she sees you signal. Because of this she has some anxiety, she requires a home where someone is with her most of the time or there are other companion dogs. She walks well on a leash but loves the freedom of chasing birds in a fenced yard. ... (Read More)Marshmallow considers herself a lap dog even though she is a Parsons Terrier weighing 20 pounds. She squeezes through our small dog door and is perfectly house trained. She is a definite Lovebug! (Less)

Animal ID: 2073Lady Bird (female)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lady Bird displayed such a sweet, easy-going personality in the Virginia shelter where she was being held that the shelter workers were convinced there must a Rat Terrier hiding under what has to be a pure Jack Russell exterior. And so Lady Bird made her way as an 'honorary' Rattie to New Rattitude, where she is affectionately called Birdie by her foster family. Birdie is 8 years old and around 20 lbs. She is quite friendly with people she knows, but a little aloof with strangers. While she's tolerant of respectful children, she doesn't go out of her way to seek out their company and will nip if pestered, so her new family will need to ... (Read More)respect her boundaries. Overall, Birdie is a very easy dog to care for. She is completely house-trained and regularly uses a dog door. Although crate trained, she can be trusted to be left alone uncrated. She also walks nicely on a leash and travels well in a car. Birdie likes to entertain herself by occasionally barking at the bigger dogs in her foster home or the birds she spies outdoors. She also enjoys walking and exploring with her foster mom and hopes her forever family will take her on similar adventures. Beyond that, she may nap in her basket next to a heater or in the sun, put her front paws on your leg to ask for an ear rub, or just snuggle contentedly by your side. Birdie gets along fine with dogs that do not overwhelm her but will put more energetic dogs in their place. She is also reactive with bigger dogs if they're on the other side of a fence, but otherwise she behaves with them. She does have a strong prey drive, so she shouldn't be in a home with cats or other small pets as she could hurt them. Birdie longs to be a loyal companion to a person who's looking for a dog who's easy to care for and easy to love. You can see more photos of Lady Bird at . Her big brown eyes will show you how much love she has to give. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING LADY BIRD, please go to new Rattitude's website at, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.     Dixie is a JRT/Beagle mix, around 4 years old. She is shy at first but does warm up quickly. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and has been microchipped. She shows no aggression and seems to get along well with other dogs, cats unknown. She is being kept outside, so we are not sure if she has been housebroken. Loves to go on walks!
