Found last weekend. Very cold and wet. Had been spotted a week before but wouldn't come to neighbor. We have many dogs dropped in my area. They are kennel trained and seem to have been housedogs.. Mother (white) 2.5 yrs- 20#', son 9 mos 12#. He looks like a wire hair Jack. Good with my 9 & 13 year old boys. Good with 2 - 100# female labs. They know to avoid the cat. -which is why they need a home/foster soon. No food issues with humans. A little with the labs, but are progressing very quickly. This little fellar found in the woods. At first he was dis-trusting but, after a couple of days, very friendly and playful. Neutered/shots on 5-8-2014. Really needs a permanent home as our household is full. Jax says: 'If I don't find a home I will be taken to a shelter and we all know what will happen there. Please love me enough to let me come live with you'! He was placed last summer with my Mother-In-Law and due to her failing health could not maintain his upkeep. Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in West Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
