Rescue Me ID: 17-11-13-00280Tilly (female)
[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Tilly is a 3 year old Jack Russell mix who would do wonderfully in a patient home that can keep up with her energy level. She loves to run and hike and chew on toys. Someone who has an understanding of how to work with her when strangers come over is a plus. Over the past year has become aggressive towards strangers and children. I have worked with multiple behavioral trainers and she has been cared for multiple medical conditions by our vet, including just a couple months ago, a splenectomy for a large tumor on her spleen. She also has urinary incontinence when she sleeps and is on Proin medication which does keep her symptoms away. Our hope was that these interventions would have improved her anxiety, however, Tilly has recently bitten a stranger in the yard. I have talked to her trainer and vet and they recommend that I find somewhere for her to go if possible, however we know that this is difficult with her now history of aggression. (Less)

Herky is a 6 yr. old, 20 lb., Chi/Jack Russel mix looking for his forever home. He was an owner surrender, first given to Grandmother because the girl said her baby was allergic to him, then the Grandmother decided she didn't want him, so he went to rescue. He has gone through a lot. He is housebroke, leash trained, crate trained, and loves car rides. He is good with other dogs, cats and should be fine with kids. He is completely vetted and his adoption fee is $300.00. If you are interested in adopting him, call Maureen at 608-356-9683.

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-03-00474Betsy (female)
Hi there, my name is Betsy. I am a spayed two-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix about 15 lbs.I have recently become an empty nester. Now I'm looking for a new home of my very own!! I'm a little shy around people. But if you are patient with me, I will let my true colors shine. I do well with kids and other dogs. I'm a silly, goofy girl that loves to run and play with my four-legged Foster siblings. I also like to go for walks and snuggle with my foster mom. At the end of the day, we snuggle together and fall asleep. I'm crate trained and only go potty outside. I love the fenced-in yard at my foster mom's home since I get to run around. I notify the family of anything out of the ordinary, nothing gets by me. I sure do like it here in DeForest. BUT I would love a FUREVER home to start the next stage of my life. I will even let my foster mom trim my nails and give me a bath to get ready for you. $250 that includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption, microchip and health certificate. Please apply for me at hopingfurahome.com or on Facebook (403644-DS) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-11-00164Shaney & Miley (female)
Before inquiring on Shaney and Miley, please note that we have a 100 mile radius adoption policy and we are located in New Richmond, WI. Please see our website for full details. www.ggohinc.com Shaney & Miley are mother and daughter and are very bonded; both have been residing at GGOH since 11/ 2009. These girls have been with GGOH since they were brought in from one of our rescue missions on a reservation in South Dakota. Shaney, Miley and Bandit (who has been adopted) were taken after they were found beaten, with broken jaws and multiple injuries. It was reported by persons on the reservation that Shaney and Bandit were trying to save their puppies (who all perished) who were being beaten by some children and in their attempts, they were hit with baseball bats, breaking their jaws and Shaney's ear. It was heartbreaking to know they had suffered so much but it was heartwarming to know we were there and could get them out safely. Shaney, Miley and Bandit came to GGOH where they had to learn to trust and understand the world was not always a scary painful place. Miley was Bandit and Shaney's daughter from a previous birth so mom and daughter rely on each other heavily. Both love to go for walks and are great on their leashes. Love to snuggle and just be with you. They will need some time to adjust to a new environment but will do great with an individual or a family, with older children, who will give them love and patience. They are ok with cats but do have some issues with other dogs as they are afraid of them sometimes due to their beginnings, running among the packs. We know they are special souls who just need understanding and a peaceful place to call 'home'. Red Heeler mixes; approx. 6 1/2 and 5 1/2 yrs old (as of December 2014). Please don't overlook these wonderful pups ~ we know you would be happy with them, if you just gave them the chance they deserve. Please visit our website (www.ggohinc.com) for further information on our Fencing and Indoor Living policies as well as information regarding our adoption process. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Jack Russell in Wisconsin
Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.
