     ...The people who had Jackson told me his story, that their family member had rescued him from a puppy mill at the age of 2, and at the age of 5, Jackson's owner passed away. My daughter and I decided to go ahead and meet this little guy. For the first week I was worried he wasn't the right dog for me because he was so timid and mainly stayed on the couch and nowhere else until someone took them to bed with them. Now I'm so glad to have him here with us. He has come out of his shell and is doing great! Thank you to the folks who drove him here from out of town to meet us, not sure if we'd even be keeping him or not, and thank you to Rescue Me! for providing the service that made it possible for us to find Jackson.

     Today we met up with Ashley Fisher and her family to get Roscoe in Richmond Hill, Georgia. When we got there Roscoe was full of energy, and we could tell he came from a great family. I just hate that they couldn't keep him due to the dog hair making Ashley break out. Since we had gotten back to Florida and to his new home, he has checked everything out, claimed his spot on the couch and has settled in very well. I can't wait to take him on his first walk around his new neighborhood. :) Thank You so much, Ashley Fisher and Family, for Roscoe. He is such a great match to our family. And the kids and my family love him so much, they can't wait to come over and play with him.

     I posted my my Jack Russell and within a week I had about three responses. I went and met the person that was extremely interested in adopting him to see how he would interact with her grandchildren and other dogs. He was extremely happy and they loved him. After taking him to get his updated shots, I allowed Kush to go to his new home. I have received updates and pictures of how well he is adjusting, and I am very satisfied with the entire process. Kush now has the time and attention that he needs as well as plenty of exercise. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Kasper was adopted after a long year of searching for the right family. The couple that adopted Kasper were actually looking to rescue a greyhound, they found out that the local Greyhound Rescue shelter closed and searched the web. That's when they happened across Rescue Me! and read the desperate plea for a safe and loving home for Kasper. The couple are a huge fan of 'The Dog Whisperer' and have used his techniques on previous rescued dogs with great success. They felt that they could work with Kasper and after a weekend trial, Kasper had quickly shown signs of fitting into their routine. I've talked to them a couple of times and they are really enjoying Kasper. Thank you God and Rescue Me's Jack Russell Rescue!

     I am extremely happy and excited that I found a home for Zoey. My worry was she couldn't go to just any family and Rescue Me's Jack Russell Rescue allowed me to send her to a family that understands this breed of dog. Jack Russells have a lot of energy, and I did not want her to be abused for being who she naturally is: inquisitive, hunters, hyper, etc. She needed land and other dogs to keep her occupied and I found exactly that! The family appears to be loving and kind, they actually allow her to sleep with them and they have a combined four Acres of land for Zoey to roam and seven other small dogs to accompany her. I received approximately five responses from Rescue Me!, but they were after this family, so I think she's where she's meant to be, in a loving and caring environment full of land for her to run, run, run and play with her new family. Thank you SO much Jeff!!! This website is a safe haven for all Jack Russells it's not just an adoption site, but one that caters to each particular breed... Thank you for helping me find a safe home for my Zoey.

     I was on my way to work, and saw a Jack Russell limping across a busy road. He seemed disoriented, and I stopped on a safe spot to fetch him and take him to the local vet. Although cars were slowing down to avoid the little fellow, he was knocked down just before I could reach him. I rushed him to the vet as he was in shock and bleeding slightly. The vet treated him for shock and a dislocated joint. I then fostered him and was blessed to find a couple, Bev and Bushy, who were willing to take him in permanently. He is still traumatized due to past experience; however, Bev and I are going to work together to get him through this. I would like to express my deepest thanks to Rescue Me! for helping me find the angel called Bev. Rescue Me! is user friendly and the notifications are very helpful. Thank you!

     After calling every shelter and rescue I could find within a 200 mile radius, no one had room for Daisy. Our local shelter told me flat out she was 'unadoptable' due to to her age (10 years) and epilepsy, even though it is well managed. They faxed me a euthanasia agreement. Rescue Me! was the only self-service rescue site I could find. Within days of posting on Rescue Me!, I found an excellent home for my terminally-ill brother's beloved Jack Russell Terrier. Rescue Me! was a life-saver.

     Thank you, Rescue Me! We truly struggled with our decision to let our baby go. We decided as a family that we had to put her needs first. She was not a throw away. Sweetie is very much loved. Only the best for our baby. We all agreed that she would NOT go to a shelter. We posted her photo here and within hours, my phone was ringing and my email went nuts. The very next day, we got our wish. We wanted an older couple who would have more time at home with her... a family who had JRT's previously and would love her in spite of her having lived half of her life. She is an amazing companion dog and needs someone to love and who will love her each and every day. We are sad that she is now 2 1/2 hours away but happy that Rescue Me! connected her to the right home. If our situation changes, I will certainly consider adopting from here as well.      Thank you NH Jack Russell Rescue. Otto, the dog I was fostering after my cousin put him in a local shelter, has finally found a new forever home because of your site. An 86 year old woman in Norton, MA lost her 92 year old husband this past spring, and then her 14 year old Bichon Frise in July. The woman has always owned dogs and wanted another. Her son saw Otto on this site and thought it would be a perfect fit as a Jack Russell was one of his mother's favorite breeds. The woman fell in love with Otto the moment she saw him, and he was just as comfortable with her, which is saying a lot, as he is a very nervous dog. Within half an hour Otto had jumped up on her couch and proceeded to take a nap. Hopefully these two lonely souls will be the perfect companions for each other during the remainder of their senior years together. God Bless you Otto and God Bless you Mary for giving Otto a new home. I will greatly miss him.

     After quite some time of trying to find just the right home, a lovely lady expressed great interest in Alvin after seeing him on this site. After a few conversations I decided she was the one! I was not going to let Alvin go to just anyone; the family had to know how Jacks are-energetic, mischievous, always one step ahead. She had a Jack for quite some time that had passed away & was looking for a special Jack to adopt when she found Alvin. She often said she just 'had a feeling' when she looked at his pic & it was meant to be, so to speak. We drove the almost 4 hours to take Alvin to his new family & we were not disappointed! As hard as it was to let Alvin go, we knew immediately he would be in loving hands! I've received a few email updates & Alvin is fitting in just fine! I couldn't be happier with Rescue Me-this site has helped more than any other media outlet in finding a good, loving home for Alvin. Thank you!

     Sixteen years ago we adopted a one year old Jack Russell Terrier by the name of McGee. His original owner said she was moving out of state and could not take him. Well needless to say the lady never moved. I think that he was just too much for her. After having McGee for a few weeks we really fell in love with the breed. I lost McGee January 23, 2012. He was 17 years old. I miss him terribly. I was looking on line for a Jack Russell Rescue in Illinois, but did not find a dog that would get along with other dogs. I decided to look in Indiana and that is where I spotted Alvin. I spoke to Crystal a few times on the phone and we e-mailed each other. This past Sunday Crystal and her beautiful family brought Alvin to our home. It was love at first sight. He fit in great!! I have three other dogs and they all get along wonderfully. He is such a warm and affectionate little guy. We are thrilled!!! I can't tell you how happy he has made all of us. Thank you Crystal and family for Alvin. He has made our home complete!!!!! RESCUE'S ARE THE BEST!!!!!!

     Thanks for your website Jeff! We had both of our Jack Russells for 6+ years and had to let them go due to life & career changes after the birth of our son. We had tried for a month to get any response from the original breeder/rescue agent (Claddagh Kennels) without one returned e-mail or phone call. I reached out to other rescue agents listed around the state of Ohio with the same amount of success. Finally I tried your website. Your website asked all of the right questions, that an adoptive owner would want to know. Plus gave us an area to describe any other behavior quirks the dogs have. Both of my dogs were adopted by a couple from Texas with another Jack of their own who is about the same age. Although my wife and I were really sad to see them go, we were comforted by the fact that we found great adoptive owners via your site. I have already recommended your site to another Jack owner.

The people that contacted us were all serious searchers and were impressed with his photo and bio. The website was very easy to use and intuitive. We found a good home for our good friend Rufus (we had too many dogs and needed to lighten the load). Although the person that adopted him turned out to be a friend of a friend, I have no doubt that we would have had no trouble at all finding him a new home through Rescue Me!.      My dog Daisy was adopted thanks to Rescue Me! I tried to place this dog myself to keep her from going to a kill shelter last fall and this spring, the family changed their mind. I was heart broken but not willing to give up on this cute little girl that had a few 'kinks' to work out! She was a difficult girl to house train. Within days of posting her on the site, I had a family call that wanted to give her a try despite her issues. They LOVE her!!!!!      Good Morning, Jeff/Rescue Me! I found our new member of the family, aka Buster, on Rescue Me! I was searching and searching everywhere for another dog, after our beloved Jack Russell died last year. One day I was searching, I think, for the zillionth time, when suddenly your website popped up on my computer. At first I saw a dog that was at risk of being euthanized and when I called the shelter, I think that it already had been. Then I signed up for the alerts and one day a dog named Buster was posted but with no picture. I contacted the owners and we met in the Tampa area this weekend. One thing Buster's former owners were concerned about was that Buster go to new owners who had Jack Russell experience, since they had already given the dog to someone who must not have had JRT experience. Then 2 days after they had given Buster away they found his picture on the website for a local shelter and the owner went to the shelter and picked up Buster again. We are now back home on the East coast together. The biggest problem was trying to find dates that we were available to meet to pick up the dog, since the owners had a busy schedule and we all were quite a distance from each other. Buster is adjusting and probably misses his former owners, but we will do the best we can to make Buster feel at home in his new home. I have already contacted Petsmart and signed all of us up for an obedience class, which starts tomorrow. Thank you so much for providing us with the link we needed to fill up the hole in our hearts left by the death of our previous JRT. However, I can not emphasize enough that this breed it not the breed for the faint of heart...they just plain are an everlasting challenge. This dog is not for the couch potato or someone looking for a cute little lap dog. This breed is great for someone with an active lifestyle who is willing to discipline consistently, be firm and give a bushel full of love. The dog, although small in stature is exceptionally strong, exceptionally intelligent and exceptionally stubborn.      My FoxyGirl went to a lovely couple in Setauket. Thank you Alan & Ann. I know you will give her everything she needs & more. Your love for her is already evident, at our first meeting. I miss her already. But my heart is full, knowing she will be with you & thriving each day. You can't replace your 16 yr old JRT, but Foxy has so much love to give & she will make it easier to keep good memories of him alive.      My rescue of my beloved baby came from the most unlikely source; my daughter and her fiancee. They saw the ad and called me up wondering why I was giving away Jocko and I told them and they were more than happy to take him and give him a loving home with two other dogs. I think he'll like it there as he loves my daughter, so that really did work out as I knew of no one else to give him away to and am against the animal care and control. Thank you for this invaluable service and he gets to go to his new family in the morning.

     Hi Jeff, I have to tell you, just as we were not 'actively' looking for a home for Luke anymore (if we couldn't find the perfect situation he wasn't going), we received a call from the most wonderful couple ever! They are the perfect fit. It seemed like love at first sight for all of them. It's only been a few days, and understandably his first night was rough, but after that night his sleep seems much better. He loves to go jogging with them, which he has never done before :oD. AND they say he's a natural! Luckily, I think we have also extended our 'family' ~ they're such warm, loving people. They want to keep in touch (so far we've chatted everyday ~ updates on Luke, photos, questions they may have, etc). I can't thank all of you at Rescue Me enough!      Jeff, Yes my Lacey girl was adopted just today! Only a few days after posting her! I was very surprised and very happy and she found what seems to be a wonderful loving family to live with. The woman who adopted her wrote to me on Wednesday September 21. We discussed the details back and forth on Thursday and by Friday morning she gave me a call and wanted to come and potentially pick her up Friday afternoon. She had another dog that she wanted to be sure Lace would get along with so she asked if she could bring her along. I said sure and the two were friends right away! And Lacey took to her new' mom' right away. The woman who adopted her was exactly the type of person I had prayed for. She is involved with her towns local Humane Society and she gives all her dogs K9 training classes that even after graduation she continues to attend as she feels it is good for the animal and herself. She was very open and communicated and answered any questions I had with friendliness and knowledge. She has also been involved in fostering animals as well. As sad as I am that I had to rehome my Lacey girl I am very happy with the outcome. The website was simple to use. The information offered was awesome. The site offered, at least to me, a caring feel and quality references for rehoming or adoption. I had placed ads at a couple of free classified type sites and was very discouraged at the people who replied. Most I would not have given a goldfish much less a puppy who would take a lot of time and care. People need to research the animals they THINK they want before even looking. Another reason I was happy with my adopter. She knew what was what. So, there ya go! I am crying cause I miss her but I am smiling thru my tears cause I know she is going to get everything I could not give her. Susan Williamson

     Jeff, Spot went to live at his new home yesterday (10/20/2011)! I received a call the previous weekend from a lady in my area who had seen him on Rescue Me while I was on the road. We made arrangements for her to meet Spot on Tuesday and it was love at first sight. She won me personally over by being cautious and mindful of how her current dog would react to a new dog in the household so we set a date for me to bring him over to her place to see how they got along. Spot hit it off immediately with her female Jack Russell. I still spent about an hour with them watching the dogs play before I was comfortable leaving him with her. She has already been sending me updates and pictures of his first 24 hours with her. I really appreciate this site for giving me the chance to find a responsible and loving home for him since he had been jostled around quite a bit over the last year.
