I am so thankful for Rescue Me. Baxter was adopted by a wonderful man, a little over a month after I posted here. I received several (six or more) emails and phone calls. It took meeting three different people before I found the perfect fit.

Thanks to Rescue Me, Peter has found a wonderful home. He has been given a great life with a loving family. He is spoiled with attention and his own special treats. His days are spent doing what he loves with endless attention, being outdoors, car rides, and of course naps. He is a sweetheart and deserves the best which he has found with his new family. Thank you!

I received many calls and emails from caring, loving families wishing to give Jac Jac a home that was compatible with his personality. He has found a forever home that will allow him to be loved and fulfill his potential, without abuse because someone doesn't understand the breed or have the time to work with a puppy. It was a family decision. All our animals are our family. Thanks to Rescue Me and everyone for their caring and support.

Pal was my mother's boy. She was a shut in for a few years and he kept her going. She passed away in October and Pal was staying at my daughter's farm with four additional dogs, two cats and three young children. He wasn't very happy. I wanted to find him a home where he could have lots of love and have someone he could give his love to. When Darlene called, said she'd like to meet Pal, my daughter took him over and after the initial how do you do, he jumped up in her lap and laid right down. We called to check up on them today and after speaking to Darlene, I broke down and cried knowing Pal has a forever home and my parents are smiling down at us. Thank you, Rescue Me, for having this awesome site available for this purpose!

Our sweet boy needed a new home as he did not like our small children. Within a day, we were getting inquiries and within a week we found the perfect forever home. We had tried multiple other sites and rescues, even ones specific to the breed. However Rescue Me was where we finally found a match for our boy. We love him so very much and parting with him was not an easy task, but finding the right family with the perfect experience and circumstances was a overwhelming relief.

My husband and I got Jack after our 13 year old male rescued Jack Russell died about one and a half years ago. Jack was confused at first and looked for his other 'mom' on the first couple of days. We also have a 13 year old rescued female Jack Russell too. It took them a few days to sort everything out, but they did and are now very good pals. Jack is well mannered. He does chase after birds and squirrels a lot. He likes having a fenced yard to run in and has even started (after only two weeks) to bark at strangers. He howls loudly at the sound of sirens too! I must admit that Jack has eyes like our deceased male dog. Other than that he has demonstrated that he is a rare and unforgettable little guy. We truly love Jack and hope that the other 'rescuers' have the same experience that we have had. Thank you Rescue Me! I had looked for many months for a little guy to love before I found Jack. He is everything he was posted to be and even more! We hope that other dog lovers of this breed use this service to rescue their own 'best pal'!!

After a couple of possible leads to find my Mom's, Jack Russell, Annie, a permanent, forever home, we were fortunate to meet a loving family to take her home. Parting with your best buddy of nine years is very heart wrenching, but lessened knowing a perfect match did exist. Thank you for all those that considered taking our Annie. We had no doubt that Annie's new 'parents' we're a perfect match. Thank you, Rescue Me, for making posting available online.

Maxine, a four-year-old Jack Russell, had been left with my family after being abandoned by her previous owner. Three dogs were just too much for me to handle so I posted Maxine on your website. Within three, weeks she was placed with her new family and they are giving her all the love she needs. Thank you so much for your website. The stress level in our home has drastically decreased and I have the peace of mind I needed to know that Maxine is in a safe, loving home. The joy she is bringing to her new family is obvious. I get text updates from them on a regular basis. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I lost my JR female, Vegas. I had her for 16 years. My male is 17 and know his time is limited. Of course, no dog could ever replace these two. I was left with a void and debating on getting another dog. I randomly decided to look up JR rescues. There she was with those sweet eyes and freckled ear. Even though it's only been two weeks, it feels like she has always been ours. I help with rescue horses and all my animals have been past rescues. Peanut has been a true gift and is an absolute wonderful dog. She is happy living on a farm and curling up on the couch. I will never, nor have ever regretted bringing a rescue dog home. My vet was really pleased with her disposition and despite her past, her overall health condition. Thank you Rescue Me for connecting me with Peanut.

I received numerous inquiries about Molly. I was very skeptical of who I could trust as far as adopting goes. However, I met one lady who worked for the United Yorkie Rescue and she was wonderful. Molly has since been spayed and updated on her shots. She is still with the United Yorkie Rescue waiting for her forever home. If you are still interested in adopting her, please visit the United Yorkie Rescue website and under the looking for love link, you will find her picture and a little bio. Thanks Rescue Me, for helping me find a wonderful place to help her while she waits for her new family.

Freckles was adopted into a very loving home of two young people in their 20's! Her new owners are so thankful for her! Freckles is now playing with her toys again, she was depressed after losing her previous owner whom she absolutely adored and stuck by every moment. She was an incredible woman with so much love and vigor! She passed away two months before her 100th birthday. She would be so happy to know that Freckles is in a good home! Freckles has adapted well in her new, forever home. She likes to lay on her owners clothes, lie in the sun and go to the park to play ball with all of her new friends! She has really settled in and is very happy!

Snoop's dad adopted her as a puppy, and for more than 11 years they were best buddies. When her dad's housing situation changed, he tried to find a home for her before he had to move. She's been with us for three weeks now and has fit into our household just like she's always been here. We're keeping in touch with her 'first dad' too. He loves her as much as we do, and if his living arrangements permit, she may be able to go back to him in the future. Thanks to Rescue Me for providing a safety net for Snoop and for so many others!

Due to a change in circumstances, Elli's owners were forced to give her up. I took her with the intention of providing a temporary home (with friends of mine) while finding her fur-ever home (literally she is a furry beast). After three weeks on the site, I received several inquiries from people wanting to adopt Elli, but when I notified the foster family they informed me they will not give her up. Without Rescue Me I may not have had the confidence to take Elli since I could not keep her due to work that takes me away from home for weeks at a time. But there were so many stories of great adoptions of dogs of all ages that I felt certain a good home would be found. Thank you Rescue Me!!

I posted my daughters dog, Buster, on this site and within one week I had a loving home for him. Buster is nine years old and finding a home for an older dog is hard. My ex husband did not like dogs and did not treat the dog very nicely. We got him for our daughter. But she is only there one or two days a week. I have six cats and could not keep him. Reenie, the woman who adopted him drove one and a half hours to meet us to pick him up. She has another older dog who has just lost his friend. Her other dog. Buster seemed to take to her. She met my 10 year old daughter and assured her she would take good care of him. I texted her and she let me know he was doing well. Said she would send us pictures. Glad I found him a good home through Rescue Me!

My Jack Russell mix became dominant with my smaller female dog. It was very difficult for me to rehome her with her additional challenges of being fearful of strangers, children and incompatible with some dogs. Thanks to Rescue Me and other organizations that forwarded her profile I truly feel she is in an even better home than I could provide for her. She now has two loving adults with only adult children and no other dogs to share with. Her new mom was looking for a walking companion and she has a large fenced in yard and sleeps in the bed I'm told. They also keep in touch on FB and give me reports of her progress. Thanks, Rescue Me, for finding the perfect match for my baby!

We picked up our Jack Russell mix and oh, what a wonderful life changer it has been! She had a good life before, but the owners saw she had a lot more to give than they had time for. We had recently retired and just something was missing. We had never had a pet before. The husband said the other day, 'What did we ever talk about before our dog came to live with us and have we ever laughed so much as we have in this last year?' I'm not going to mention she is the center of our life now. I'm guessing everyone says their pet is perfect like we did with our children, but our fur baby is so gentle, well behaved and loves her 'game time' and special walks! Thank you, Jeff. If it hadn't been for Rescue Me, this life-changing doggie would never been ours.

Rescue Me helped me find my Shelby a perfect home. I knew no one and had very little time. Shelby and I traveled from Hawaii and to take her back would require quarantine for 120 days in Honolulu. She would not have been able to endure that so I had to find her a home on the mainland. A wonderful family contacted me and I went to their farm and met them and their five other Jack Russells. Shelby fits right in and loved the new family. This site is a blessing and so are the wonderful people who adopt these very special dogs. I am forever grateful! Thank You! -Renee

I lost my Jack Russell Terrier last month. Jaizee had been battling Valley Fever for a year. She seemed to be recovering, but suddenly began having seizures and died. I was brokenhearted, she was my best buddy and went everywhere with me. I found her on Rescue Me. After a month, I started looking again. I wanted another female, but this little guy caught my eye. My daughter and I met him at the shelter, and he truly was such a sweetheart we took him home. Clouse is a bundle of joy and a welcome new member of the family.      After my mother passed, we tried to put Graham with friends at a farm. After he killed a goat, he wore out his welcome. We were afraid he would be euthanized because no one had a place for him. Thanks to the help of a guardian angel K. Tate, Graham was transported to a foster who found a great home for Graham with a disable veteran. They said it was love at first sight!      We unfortunately had to give up our dog Rhea up for adoption because it turns out that our son is allergic to dogs. We could have kept her, but that would mean really limiting Rhea's exposure to areas where my son frequents, carpeted areas etc. So we made the hard decision to try to re-home her so that both my son and Rhea would have the best quality of life possible. After interviewing a few families and nothing turned out to be a good fit, I decided to try a rescue. I found Rescue Me! After posting, I received numerous inquiries, but nothing really went through. Then I receive a text from Gerald. He found my posting and was very interested in Rhea. We texted back and forth for a few days and we agreed on a time where he could come and meet Rhea. The meeting was way above my expectations. Rhea took to Gerald like they've been friends forever. He wanted to bring his kids over to make sure that Rhea got along with them before making a decision. I had no doubt in my mind that it wouldn't be anything less than success. Rhea loves people, young and old. So yesterday Gerald and his three kids came over to meet Rhea. Rhea greeted them with open paws and I could tell by the look on the children's face that this was going to work. Seeing them interact, although I was sad that Rhea was leaving us, I was very happy knowing that Rhea was going to be with such a loving family. I am so glad that I used Rescue Me because it brought this wonderful family in contact with us and I know Rhea will be loved. Thank you Rescue Me and Thank you Gerald and family for loving my precious little Rhea. She will bring you many years of joy as she did with me and my family.

My little Lois was on death row when I adopted her. The rescue group gave me incorrect information about her age and energy level. I soon realized she was not going to be happy in a condo environment. I was contacted by a local lady. She had just lost a dog to cancer and wanted to adopt Lois. We met and spent a couple of hours visiting and easing Lois into the transition. It broke my heart to give her up, but her new life had much more to offer. She now has two other dogs to hang out with, she is never crated, has a doggy door to come and go as she wishes, a large fenced yard, lives on nine acres. Her new mom gets in a golf cart every night and runs the dogs. She is the happiest when she runs and can outrun the golf cart. She has not only gained a wonderful home, but I have gained a good friend. We talk a couple of times a week, she sends pictures and updates on food, health, and training. I plan on visiting them very soon. This dog and I have hit the jackpot. Although I miss her every day, I feel very good about my decision and would do it again. Thanks, Rescue Me!

Thank you Rescue Me for helping us find Jack a wonderful fur-ever home. We feel so blessed! Jack's lived a life or Riley with my dear friend for 10 years, but because of unfortunate circumstances, my friend wasn't allowed to take Jack to her new residence. Jack recently found a loving home with a sweet couple who's been raising Russell Terriers for the past 20 years. Their dogs are the utmost importance to them, and their babies! How lucky could Jack be to have found such a loving home! The best part of Jack's new journey is that he will share his new home with another Russell Terrier named Buddy! Rescue Me, we cannot express in my words, our gratitude for your assistance in helping Jack find a home. I have no doubt he will continue to be spoiled and loved. Thank you again, we couldn't have done this without you, we're forever grateful!

Rescue Me has been an invaluable resource in helping me to find a home for Wilson. I talked to several potential adopters over the phone and met two families in person. Willie went to a couple who lives about ten minutes from me in a lovely home in a beautiful neighborhood. They were devoted to their two JRT's who they raised for sixteen and seventeen years respectively. They were very familiar with the breed and could offer Willie the active lifestyle he really needs and deserves. I'm really happy for Willie and know he is going to have a wonderful forever home with two loving parents. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I told Buddy that he is in his forever home, and he kissed me over and over. Tonight, he is worn out from running and playing in the yard. I am sure Buddy rescued me instead of me rescuing him. I am so thankful for this web site and to the people and also to the previous for giving me the opportunity to adopt Russell. I am so happy with him, he is adorable. He has really touched my heart. Thank you all so much.

This is Bella. She is approximately three years old. She and two of her eight babies were an owner surrender case, before the babies were even eight weeks old. God only knows how and where the other six babies are now. Bella is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix (maybe Dachshund), her story is unique due to her 'true Jack Russell attitude'. Bella has a habit of nipping (not biting) people she is unfamiliar with, which created lack of interest in adopting her. Although I know what a wonderful girl she is and can be, she wasn't even given a chance, due to her attitude. She is amazing once you are her 'person'!! I sent out a plea through Rescue Me for fosters for our rescue so we can save more from euthanasia and received a return call from Jennifer offering to foster. We felt that Bella needed the one on one to help her with her attitude. Well, she nipped Jennifer's hand while she was saying hello to her. It wasn't a bite and knowing that it upset me, Jennifer expressed that it wasn't painful it was just a nip. We sat down and started talking to Bella at our feet, intentionally ignoring her. I explained a little about her and told her that she will say sorry if given the chance. Jennifer put her hand down that she nipped and said 'Bella, this is the hand you nipped are you going to do it again?'. Right then, Bella jumped in her lap and apologized to her with kisses. Jennifer decided then and there that she wanted to foster my 'Problem Child'. Her foster period lasted two weeks and Jennifer was signing paperwork to adopt! We lost a foster but Bella and Jennifer gained a perfect love match!!

We did adopt the little ball of energy. He is a good little Jack Russell Terrier and will have a good home with the Campbell's. He has been renamed to Marty and yes, he was named for the character in back to the future movies. He is learning more and more every day to listen and to behave in his new land. He is very sweet and loving he is learning to snuggle with the humans and in the fall start obedience class and get his good citizen card. Thanks, Rescue Me!

Brownie was abandoned, and all efforts to find his former home resulted in nothing. He was found wandering around aimlessly, limping and sad. He was taken in by a family that could not provide a forever home for him. After posting his story here, a lovely, woman older woman who wanted a pet adopted him. She took him to the vet and found that he is seven or eight years old and is in relatively good health. Brownie is now in his FURever home and a happy dog. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Little Chrissy was adopted last week. The home initially was to be a temporary foster home, as they already have two other rescues and were unsure how it would work out. This loving, young couple absolutely fell in love with Chrissy instantly, and so did both of their rescues, who are MUCH bigger dogs. Everyone loves her and they send me pictures and updates daily. Chrissy is receiving the love and care she so well deserves, and last I heard she was outside galloping around with the gang in their fenced in, large property. Initially she was a little cautious, but she has bonded with the two gentle giants already living there. They are very protective and adoring of her. All three doggies have spaces on the couch and the last picture I received she was snuggling with Blue (a very large hound dog/mix). Chrissy has trouble getting up onto the couch, but she takes running starts and usually pulls herself up by herself. The other dogs step in and nudge her when she slips and also stand by her when she sleeps in her brand new bed. This story had a happy ending and Chrissy is smiling in every picture I see! Thank you, Rescue Me!

Jax got a wonderful home today! I found the best possible home for him and know he will have a wonderful life! He will be the only pet and will be greatly spoiled. His new mommy was looking for another lil' dog since her last one passed from old age issues recently. I already got my first update today on how Jax is doing. This is what was said: 'We went to my daughter's house and he played with her dog. They got along well. Then on the way back home, he slept like an angel in his new bed. We've played in the yard, and with his toys, had his evening meal, and now he is making himself at home. He gives me sugar and his Daddy sugar too. He will jump up with me on the sofa and sit in my lap. We will send pictures later. I will be following Jax on Facebook!' Thank you Rescue Me for finding Jax a great home!

We found our prince, Pogo, on Rescue Me, he reminded us of a tiny version of a large American bulldog we lost several years ago to cancer. It was an instant connection and I knew he was meant for us. He is an 18 month old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. He makes everyone in my house so happy, even our seven year old Bichon. He is perfection, and he is cuddling me as I write this review. I am so so glad I found this site and found my precious boy, Pogo!

Pogo was the easiest dog that I have ever had under my foster care. I was so taken with this loving little guy that I was considering adopting him myself. Then I received an email and began corresponding with a nice lady that was so taken with his picture. She and her family made arrangements with me to meet at the dog park. I thought maybe that when they saw him, he wouldn't be what they expected. They drove approximately 100 miles round trip, and I believe that he was meant to be a part of their family! The entire family seemed perfect for him, even their dog accepted him. Pogo was hesitant about leaving my arms and leaving me, his loving foster mom of five weeks, but I received pictures of him with individuals in the family and my eyes filled with tears of happiness for this little guy and for the his newly adoptive family! Thank you, Rescue Me.

God sent this little fellow into our lives to help heal the pain, loss, and loneliness we had from loosing our Big O Fellow, Marley last year. This little guy will get all the love and care that Marley would have gotten if he were still here. The Lord never makes mistakes, he will answer prayers and here's one that has been answered. Not only do we get another little guy to love and care for, but this little guy gets a forever home, his own ready made family with a little sister too, Bebe. God is good all the time. Thanks, Rescue Me.

I was also in touch with a foster parent of Wishbone and received lots of information about him. Wishbone is going to be a great addition to my family.      I have had Jack Russell dogs for 17 years and since losing my last one two months ago I would occasionally go to the rescue site and see all the little faces that needed some love. I came across Diego and there was just something about this little fellow that tugged at my heart; for a week I kept going back and viewing him and decided I would again open my heart a little fur-baby. The application process went very smoothly (I was impressed with the promptness with which my inquiries were addressed). They are very thorough when accessing and getting veterinary care for their rescues. Diego is the sweetest, loving little dog, just as Amy said he was. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping me find my furever friend!

The wonderful people that ended up with Sassy just gave me a very comfortable feeling and they ask all the right question. They drove three hours to meet with us and let us spend some time getting to know them and letting Sassy get to know them. They just gave me that feeling you get when you just know this is right. They called to let me know how she did on the trip back and have kept in touch to let me know how things are going. I know she has a forever home and this is the perfect home for her. Thanks everyone for all the inquiries.

I have never fostered a dog before, but when I found Elway, an abandoned little cutie, my heart went out to him. He was so sweet and deserved a home where he was loved forever. I could not keep him because my job requires me to be away for days at a time, or I would have kept him in a heartbeat. I needed to find him the perfect loving home, and after posting on Rescue Me, I was contacted by quite a few people. It was hard to pick, because all of the people that responded were so kind and he would have been happy with any of them. It was so hard to say goodbye to him, but I am excited for the little guy to have a family forever. Thank you!

Justin got adopted by a wonderful couple. He was owned by a woman who recently died. The police took him after the death, but he escaped from police and got picked up by Animal Services three days later. He had a large gash on his hip that required stitches. He was hurt, angry, and hated the cone on his head. He bit at everyone who came near, especially men. He was in the killing room when a lady from Animal Services called me. He was rescued 'just in time', hence the name Justin. He was boarded for a month and became a sweetheart and loving and kind, once again. He now has a new family who loves him. The family contacted the deceased woman's family and told them that Justin was ok. Can't get any better than this ending. Thanks, Rescue Me. -Jan

While he was beloved, my daughter, his mother became ill and could not care for him and my travels made it impossible for me to keep him. Now he has moved in with Susan and has two acres of new land to explore and a new mom who has promised to take him out on frequent walks and get him back to his fighting weight.      I love to share the wonderful experiences I've had with the Rescue Me team. A few months back, I was searching for a companion to replace the two pups that I lost in a divorce. I found a Chihuahua/Schnauzer mix that rescued me and we became real buddies. Then a couple of weeks ago, we decided that it was time to find another companion for both of us. We turned again to Rescue Me and found the perfect addition in a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix. These two girls have become fast friends that love to play, eat and sleep together. Everyone on the Rescue Me team has been so caring of the adoptions and personally care about these animals that it has turned me into a real advocate. I tell anyone who will listen about the organization and encourage them to visit the websites. Here's to your continued success and thanks for Rescueing Me!

I got this humble but old Jack Russell wire coat terrier last week through Rescue Me. His name has been changed to Jackson. Jackson's dog persona is friendly to all he meets of the two legged or other four legged creatures. Except he does not like cats nor his allergy medications, probably from some pass incident on his time living on a farm. He looks sad in his picture, but I can assure you he feels the love from his new owner. Jackson gets fed two, gourmet Blue Buffalo dog meals a day with chopped pieces of boiled chicken or cheddar cheese, plus a morning and evening stroll. He likes his fluffy pillow in his cage in the evening. Jackson understands at 9:00pm he must go to his caged bed. I leave his cage door open, but have caught him jumping on the end corner of my bed to get close to his new pack leader in the middle of the night. All I have to say is, ''Jackson, really? Ah, no.' He goes right back to his bed in his cage with the door open. Anyway, Jackson has destroyed three stuffed dog toys with squeaky innards which look like animals: a hedgehog, fox and a monkey. The stuffed red crab has squeaky innards, but it does not interest him. I guess it looks too fake. I am glad I got Jackson, he is a joy to have around and is loved by myself and my family.
