Health: Mange (Demodectic), Malnourished, Abused/Neglected 

    This little dog is wandering on the university campus in La Serena in horrific condition. I'm begging someone to rescue this poor thing. I will do whatever is necessary to help. I would have taken him to a vet but was stuck on a cruise and have been so upset. Please contact me and help. I don't know what the laws are when it comes to adopting a dog from another country, even if it's possible. Please don't let this guy suffer. His skin is very bad.

    Jack Russell Dogs can make good pets in Chile if they match your IifestyIe. The Jack Russell Terrier is a witty, highly intelligent and trainable working dog. Jack Russells are cheeky, entertaining pets. Jack Russells do well with considerate children but do not like to be teased. Jack Russells need a dominant owner experienced in firm obedience training. The Jack Russell Terrier has strong hunting instincts and should not be trusted with small animals. This scrappy Terrier may fight with dogs with which he is not socialized from an early age. Jack Russells can live in an apartment but need plenty of exercise and do best with a yard. Jack Russells can climb and dig under fences, and need to be kept on a leash when walking.

    The dog Eddie on the T.V. show Frasier is a Jack Russell Terrier. Jack Russell Terriers are descended from fox terriers bred by Rev. John Russell in England in the early 1800s. Rev. Russell's Terrier, Trump, was depicted in a painting commissioned by Edward VII, Prince of Wales, who was a friend of the parson. Jack Russell Terriers are considered by some to be the most intelligent dog breed.
